Los Gatos Saratoga Observation Nursery School’s annual school benefit auction and parent night out is right around the corner! Come celebrate with friends and help us support the invaluable preschool education that our precious Mountain School has offered for more than 50 years. Here are some of the event details:

	Who’s invited?	Parents, friends, teachers, and Mountain School alumni (Adults only)
	What’s happening?	A beautifully-themed silent and live auction in the heart of the redwoods, surrounded by the Garden of Discovery that our children are exploring daily in their adventures at Mountain School
	When shall I arrive?	Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm (For the best selection of auction items, please arrive promptly at 6:00pm. The first silent auction table will close at 7:00pm.)
	How much is it?	Auction tickets are priced at $20 a piece, and each family is required to purchase a minimum of two tickets by February 20, 2010. If you are unable to attend, or if you’d like to donate more, please consider purchasing extra tickets for our teachers.

Invitations

Do you know of any Mountain School alumni, or do you have any neighbors, friends, parents, or grandparents of Mountain School students who would like to attend our auction? Please contact Bill Skeet at bill@skeet.com or 408-295-4177, and we will send them a special invitation.

 

Tickets

If you have not yet purchased your tickets, please return your response card to Bill Skeet at, 1043 Camino Pablo, San Jose, CA 95125 by February 20, 2010. Tickets are $20 a piece, and each family is required to purchase two tickets. If you need an extension or have not yet purchased your tickets, please contact Bill vie email at bill@skeet.com to make arrangements

 

Family Donations

Each family enrolled in Mountain School is responsible for donating an item to be sold at the annual auction. This requirement is per family, not per class, so if you have more than one student enrolled at Mountain School, you are still only required to donate one item.

Donations can be any of the following:

• EXPERIENCES such as poker night, a wine tour, vacation rentals, gift certificates for hotels and restaurants, amusement park tickets
• SERVICES such as yoga instruction, dance lessons, legal services, haircuts
• NEW ITEMS such as toys, pieces of art, and sports memorabilia
• Unable to think of something to contribute? Another alternative is to DONATE a flat fee of $50, and the Solicitations Committee  will purchase an item on your behalf.

You can find the donation form here or in the parent room at the schoolhouse. If you haven't already submitted your donation forms, please do so as soon as possible. Please note: The actual donation itself can be collected at a later time.

Class Projects

Each class will create and customize a project that will be sold during the Live Auction portion of the event. The most profitable projects in years past are those that have special ties to Mountain School. Here are a few examples:

• Hand painted Adirondack chairs
• Handmade bookshelf, painted and built to look like the schoolhouse
• Hand painted toy chest
• Custom mosaic table
• A collection of student drawings combined into a storybook

Please work with your teachers and class coordinator to determine the project your class would like to create.

Auction Committees

Each family is required to participate on an auction committee. If you are unable to commit to the time required, you may buyout of your participation for $450. The 2010 Auction Committee Chairs are as follows:
